An alarming incident unfolded today as an armed clash erupted between two groups at an election camp of a political party in the NA-59 Chakwal constituency. At least four individuals sustained bullet injuries during the intense confrontation, shaking the atmosphere outside a polling station in Akwal.
The clash, triggered by escalating tensions between the two groups, led to the temporary suspension of the voting process at the affected polling station. The situation remains tense, and security forces are actively working to restore order in the area.
In a distressing parallel, reminiscent of recent political unrest, another clash occurred in Kot Addu district of Punjab, where supporters of PML-N candidate Amjad Abbas Chandia and independent candidate Murtaza Raheem Khar engaged in a physical altercation. The clash resulted in 15 people sustaining injuries, with four critically wounded individuals rushed to Nishtar Hospital in Multan.
Rescue officials were swift in their response, transporting the injured from the NA-59 Chakwal incident to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Talagang for immediate medical attention.
