The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) declared a transition to distance learning in all educational institutions across the emirate on Monday, February 12, citing the prevailing weather conditions.

The announcement was made by SPEA on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Due to the weather conditions tomorrow, and to prioritize the safety of our students, it has been decided that Monday, February 12, 2024 will be distance learning in all educational institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah.”

Earlier today, government public schools and federal higher education institutions throughout the UAE received a directive to move to remote classes on Monday.

In Dubai, private schools, nurseries, and universities were advised to adopt flexibility in their policies regarding in-person student attendance, with the option to implement distance learning if deemed necessary on Monday.
