Internet Outages continue in Pakistan

Many Freelancers, Gamers, and especially those who work online ( IT sector) have reported Internet outages across Pakistan, even before the General Elections 2024, Usually, Internet services were often affected due to the technical glitches reported by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) of a submarine cable damage.

The Internet slow or no browsing was reported on Monday once again by different users across the country.

A month back, the PTA announced that Pakistan May Face More Internet Disruptions as PTA Upgrades its Web Monitoring System However, almost every other day Internet Outages are reported from all corners of the country.

Freelancers working online from home told INCPak that they are facing issues with connectivity almost slow or no browsing at times, even to access the online visual suit Canva, users have to switch to a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

After the General Elections 2024, in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates contested the elections as Independents won with the majority, an all-time high rigging was reported by the candidates on X formerly known as Twitter. The Twitter Outage is being constantly reported by downdetector.pk

Internet slow browsing was reported on Saturday which continued on Sunday and now today Monday.

“I have been trying several different VPNs to access and complete my work online which the client assigned me, it’s very difficult for me to work online from Pakistan, I don’t know what’s on their mind and how this country will survive” – Said Imran Kashif (Freelancer)

Whoever is responsible for the Internet Outages, the IT Industry is being punished for it.
