Instagram Now Allows You to Edit Messages, Introduces Several Upgrades to DMs

Instagram has introduced new features to improve messaging for its users. Now, you can edit your direct messages on Instagram within 15 minutes of sending them, fixing typos or making changes. To edit a message, press and hold it, then choose “edit” from the menu. An “Edited” label will appear on the message to notify the recipient. This function resembles Apple’s edit feature in iMessage.

Apart from the edit message feature, Instagram users can pin up to three messaging threads to the top of their inbox for easy access. Simply swipe left or tap and hold on a chat, then select “pin.” You can unpin threads at any time. This feature allows users to prioritize important conversations or set reminders to revisit specific chats later.

Moreover, Instagram now enables users to turn off read receipts for all chats or specific ones. This feature, previously in testing, is now available to all users. You can manage read receipts in your account settings under “Messages and story replies.”

Furthermore, Instagram has introduced the ability to save favorite stickers in DMs. Simply press and hold a sticker to save it for future use. Saved stickers will appear at the top for easy access.

Furthermore, the recent changes encourage more frequent communication among users by enhancing the Instagram messaging experience. Instagram aims to make its messaging service different from rivals’ by giving easy-to-use editing tools, pinning options, and privacy controls.
