Google has been developing its own Tensor processors, similar to Apple’s strategy. The upcoming Pixel 9 is expected to feature the Tensor G4 chip, aiming to improve heat and power management for users. Leaks suggest that Samsung will manufacture the G4 on a 4nm process, potentially leading to cooler operations and longer battery life.
Initial reports indicate that the Tensor G4 will offer slight improvements over the G3 chip. However, the focus is on the future Tensor G5, set to revolutionize the Pixel 10 series. This will mark Google’s first true custom-designed Tensor chip, promising enhanced hardware-software integration for an optimized Android experience.
This move brings Google closer to Apple’s level of vertical integration. Although details about the Tensor G5 and Pixel 10 remain scarce, the anticipation among technology enthusiasts for the superior performance of the Pixel 9 series is already high.
