Pakistan Faces Slow Internet Due to Damaged to Submarine Cables

According to the details, the damage happened near Indonesia, and it’s affecting internet speed and connectivity in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Reports say that there are five cuts on the submarine cable, and this is causing serious problems for internet services, especially for connections coming from the east.

It’s expected that it will take about a month to fix the cable completely and get it working again. Right now, both PTCL and Transworld, companies involved in managing internet connections, are having trouble with internet traffic going east.

Even though internet traffic from the east is not a big part—less than 10 percent—the users in Pakistan are facing extremely slow internet connectivity, especially during the evening.

To try to make things better, PTCL is redirecting internet traffic from the east to other routes. But still, people might have trouble using the internet until the fiber optic cable is completely fixed.
