Petrol Prices in Pakistan: 1 May 2024

The government has decided to reduce the petrol prices in Pakistan for the next fortnight, from 1 May 2024 to 15 May 2024. According to the details, the government has decided to slash the price of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) for the next fortnight.

According to the notification, the petrol price has been reduced by Rs. 5.45 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been slashed by Rs. 8.42 per litre.

This brings the new price of petrol to Rs. 288.49 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will now cost Rs. 281.96 per litre.

The latest diesel and petrol prices in Pakistan will be applicable from midnight on 1 May 2024 for the first half of the month.

In the notification, the Finance Division stated, “The prices of Petroleum products have seen a decreasing trend in the international market during the last fortnight. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices, based on the price variations in the international market.”

Earlier, it was reported that petrol price could be reduced by Rs. 5 per litre, while diesel price was expected to see a reduction of Rs. 7.85 per litre.

In the last fortnightly review, the federal government increased the petrol price in Pakistan by Rs. 4.53 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was slashed by Rs. 8.14 per litre.
