Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, recently announced a stringent crackdown on unregistered vehicles in the province during a press conference in Karachi. Beginning on May 10, the crackdown aims to enforce compliance with vehicle registration laws.
Memon emphasized the importance of vehicle owners promptly registering their cars and motorcycles to avoid penalties from the excise department. He highlighted the risks associated with unregistered vehicles, including their involvement in criminal activities such as theft and smuggling, underscoring the need for immediate action to maintain road safety and protect citizens.
The minister urged citizens to collect their original number plates from the excise department to ensure compliance with legal requirements. Failure to register vehicles by the deadline will result in the immediate impoundment of unregistered vehicles found on the roads.
In addition to addressing vehicle registration issues, Memon discussed the government’s efforts to enhance security in educational institutions and combat drug-related crimes. He emphasized collaboration with the Sindh Police and recent law enforcement operations aimed at maintaining public safety.
