Rain-wind and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night, Saturday, and Sunday. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave will likely impact the upper and western parts of the country starting Friday evening.
Due to these conditions, partly cloudy weather with rain-wind and thunderstorms is forecasted for the twin cities and isolated areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeastern Balochistan, south/central Punjab, the Pothohar region, and Kashmir on Friday evening/night and throughout the weekend.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperatures are expected to range between 36-38 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday. In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperatures are likely to be between 37-39°C on Saturday and 38-40°C on Sunday.
In contrast, hot and dry weather prevailed in the twin cities and most parts of the country over the past 24 hours. Dadu and Jacobabad were the hottest places in the country, recording maximum temperatures of 48°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature reached 40°C, with morning relative humidity at 53 percent. In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was 38°C, and the morning relative humidity was recorded at 38 percent.
