Punjab Changes College Timings Due to Extreme Heat

Due to rising temperatures in the province, the Punjab government has announced new timings for public and private colleges. These changes will be in effect from May 21 to May 31.

On Monday, the Higher Education Department (HED) issued a notification explaining that this decision was made because of the extremely hot weather.

The new college timings in Punjab under the HED are:

Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 7:30 am to 11:30 am
Friday: 7:30 am to 11:00 am
Monday to Saturday (evening shift): 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Previously, the provincial government decided to start summer vacations early for schools because of the heat. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar announced this on X.

According to the notification, all public and private schools will be closed from May 25 to 31. Summer vacations will now be from May 25 until August 14.

Originally, the Punjab Education Department had planned for summer vacations to start from June 1 to August 14.
