Another forest fire broke out on Margalla Hills on Tuesday, and firefighting efforts are underway to control the blaze. The authorities are working hard to it from spreading further.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) issued a statement saying that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took immediate notice of the fire. He directed the relevant authorities to act quickly to control the fire and protect lives and property.
The CDA reported that the fire started on Saidpur Range Trail 3 and moved towards Noor Pur Range Trail 5. While the fire on Trail 3 has been put out, efforts are still ongoing to extinguish the blaze on Trail 5.

More than 65 firefighters are involved in the operation, with additional teams sent to speed up the process. CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa has tasked the DG Environment with personally supervising the firefighting efforts. However, strong winds and high temperatures are making the job difficult.
On Monday, three separate fires broke out on Margalla Hills, catching the attention of the Prime Minister. Military helicopters joined the firefighting efforts, but the fires spread quickly due to the hot weather. Despite several hours of effort, the fires were not completely extinguished.
The Prime Minister praised the quick response and hard work of all departments involved, including the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the Pakistan Army, and the Islamabad administration. He also instructed the authorities to assess the damage to the forest and take steps for its restoration.
