The federal cabinet has approved a proposal for Federal Budget 2024-25 to raise the pensions of federal government employees by 15 percent.
Furthermore, the cabinet has approved a significant increase in salaries for federal government employees. Employees in grades 1 to 16 will receive a 25 percent salary increase, while those in grades 17 to 22 will see a 20 percent increase in their pay.
It is expected that provincial governments will also increase their employees’ pensions by 15 percent, following the federal decision.
Both decisions are likely to be announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his address to the parliament later today.
