Islamabad, Rawalpindi Weather Update For June 24 and 25

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts more rain-wind/thunderstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night and Monday.

Currently, continental air is prevailing over most parts of Pakistan, with a shallow westerly wave affecting the upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in the twin cities and at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, the Potohar region, northeast Balochistan, southeast Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir on Sunday evening/night and Monday.

Meanwhile, dry and hot weather is expected in the rest of the country.

Temperature Forecast:

  • Islamabad: 40-42°C on Monday and 41-43°C on Tuesday
  • Rawalpindi: 37-39°C on Monday and 38-40°C on Tuesday

Over the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in Islamabad, the Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Jacobabad was the hottest place in the country, with a maximum temperature of 46°C. Maximum temperatures in Chhor, Dadu, Hafizabad, and Turbat were recorded at 45°C, and in Bhakkar, Sakrand, and Nawabshah at 44°C.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature reached 40°C with an evening relative humidity of 42%. In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was 38°C with an evening relative humidity of 34%.
