Bannu Attack: Security Forces Stop Terrorists, Prevent Disaster

In a heroic display of bravery and quick response, security forces effectively thwarted an attempt by terrorists to enter the cantonment in Bannu. Faced with a robust defense, the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall of the cantonment, resulting in a devastating suicide blast.

The explosion caused a portion of the wall to collapse and damaged nearby infrastructure, leading to the tragic loss of eight brave soldiers. The fallen heroes include:

  • Naib Subedar Muhammad Shehzad (44 years, District Poonch, AJK)
  • Havildar Zil-e-Hussain (39 years, District Khushab)
  • Havildar Shahzad Ahmed (28 years, District Neelum, AJK)
  • Sepoy Ashfaq Hussain Khan (30 years, District Muzzafarabad, AJK)
  • Sepoy Sobhan Majeed (22 years, District Muzzafarabad, AJK)
  • Sepoy Imtiaz Khan (30 years, District Karak)
  • Sepoy Arsalan Aslam (26 years, District Bahawalpur)
  • Lance Naik Sabz Ali (34 years, Lakki Marwat) of Frontier Constabulary

Following the explosion, security forces swiftly engaged the terrorists. In the ensuing operation, all ten terrorists were neutralized, preventing a major catastrophe and saving countless innocent lives. This timely and effective response highlights the unyielding resolve and dedication of Pakistan’s security forces in the fight against terrorism.

The heinous attack was carried out by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, which operates from Afghanistan. This group has previously used Afghan soil to orchestrate terrorist acts inside Pakistan. Pakistan has repeatedly raised concerns with the Interim Afghan Government, urging them to prevent the use of their territory by such terrorist elements and to take decisive action against them.

Pakistan Armed Forces remain steadfast in their commitment to defend the nation and its people against the scourge of terrorism. They will continue to take all necessary measures to counter threats emanating from Afghanistan.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
