How to Avail PM Shehbaz’s Ramadan Package 2025

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched a Rs20 billion Ramadan package on March 1, 2025, aimed at supporting 4 million deserving families across Pakistan—benefiting approximately 20 million people.

Here’s a detailed guide on how you can avail this relief package during the holy month of Ramadan:

What is the Ramadan Package?

  • Financial Aid: Each eligible family will receive Rs5,000 through digital wallets.
  • Subsidized Sugar: 600 stalls at the tehsil level will offer sugar at Rs130 per kilogram.
  • Coverage: The package targets 4 million families nationwide, from Karachi to Gilgit, ensuring equitable distribution across all provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • Timeline: Relief will be distributed within the first 10 days of Ramadan 2025.

Who is Eligible?

  • The package is designed for “deserving families,” typically identified through existing welfare programs like the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and data from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
  • Families already registered with BISP or similar government poverty alleviation programs are likely prioritized.

How to Avail the Package

  1. Check Eligibility:
    • Verify if your family is registered with BISP or NADRA as a deserving household.
    • Contact your local tehsil office or call the BISP helpline (0800-26477) to confirm your status.
  2. Digital Wallet Setup:
    • The Rs5,000 cash relief will be transferred via digital wallets, ensuring transparency and swift delivery.
    • Ensure you have an active digital wallet linked to your CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card). Popular options include Easypaisa, JazzCash, or any bank-supported digital wallet.
    • If you don’t have a digital wallet, visit a nearby agent of Easypaisa/JazzCash or your bank to set one up using your CNIC.
  3. Receive the Amount:
    • Once verified, the government, in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), NADRA, and tech companies, will transfer Rs5,000 directly to your digital wallet.
    • No need to stand in queues—funds will be credited automatically within the first 10 days of Ramadan.
    • Keep your registered mobile number active to receive notifications about the transfer.
  4. Access Subsidized Sugar:
    • Visit one of the 600 designated stalls at the tehsil level to purchase sugar at Rs130/kg.
    • Bring your CNIC for verification, as stocks may be limited and prioritized for eligible families.
    • Check with your local tehsil administration for stall locations and timings.
