Flight operations are gradually returning to normal business in Pakistan, as 13 foreign airlines have flights operating, airport sources further added. However, the number of flights operating is still far below normal, as fewer than 50 foreign flights are airborne.
Among the carriers that have announced resumption of services are Gulf Air and Turkish Airlines, in a move towards the resumption of regular air travel links. Also, attempts are being made to resume Hajj flights as per schedule, providing relief to pilgrims seeking religious travel.
Some routes have also seen operational modifications. Three Sialkot to Sharjah, Dammam, and Kuwait flights have been temporarily shifted to Lahore to address logistics requirements.
Saudi Arabian Airlines has restarted flights to Pakistan, sources at the Pakistan Airports Authority reported on Monday.
The flight is now operating between Karachi and Jeddah, the airline’s representative added.
These sequential resumptions of service indicate progress in restoring Pakistan’s international air connectivity following past disconnections.
