Orange Line Metro Train project faces delay

LAHORE – Orange Line Metro Train project facing a delay, according to previous government project was almost complete however in a recent hearing CJP was heading a three-judge bench seized with a case regarding contracts of mega projects awarded to a group of same companies. Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan were other members of the bench.

CJP Mian Saqib Nisar observed that residents of Lahore had suffered a lot due to the construction work of the project and that the court could not see them in agony anymore.

“This project should now be completed in hours, instead of days,” he said.

The representative of the Habib Constructions said that more than 90pc of work assigned to them had been completed and the remaining work, including laying the train track, would be done by a Chinese company.

CJP Nisar said huge public money was involved in the project which could not be left unattended. He directed the government to resolve monetary issues involving the contractors and also work on a war footing for the approval of revised PC-I of the project.

Former chief Minister Punjab Main Shahbaz Sharif faked inauguration on an incomplete project where 35% of the project was still under construction.

It appears Orange line metro train project might take 6 more months and Lahoris have to suffer more.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
