Aamir Liaquat in trouble again, Dr Sattar challenges NA-245 results

PTI Rebel Aamir Liaquat is in trouble once again as Dr.Farooq Sattar decides to challenges NA-245 (Karachi) results before Election Tribunal.

In a media talk, Dr.Farooq Sattar said “I have proofs to challenge the result of NA-245 and I hope the election tribunal will hear them,”

The MQM-P leader has prepared an 850-page application to be submitted to the election tribunal.

PTI candidate Aamir Liaquat won from this constituency in General Election 2018, leaving behind Dr.Sattar who came on second with 35,247 votes.

Dr.Sattar claimed in his petition that around 22,000 ballot papers were found missing in NA-245 alone. The petitioner demands that the victory notification of Aamir Liaquat from NA-245 be declared void until the case hearing completes.

He said his political future would be decided by the public, adding “whatever the people decide will be acceptable to me.”

On 13 September, Dr.Farooq Sattar resigned from Rabita Committee (MQM-P) due to personal reasons and rumors speculating that Dr.Sattar might join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

His resignation came after a week when he publicly stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf offered him to contest the upcoming by-elections from  NA-247 on the party ticket.

Dr Farooq Sattar said “I am consulting my close friends over the offer,”.

 

As for Aamir Liaquat who already started criticizing PTI Government and Imran Khan was ignored when Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Karachi earlier this month, However, sources say PTI Sindh Chapter is not happy with Aamir Liaquat and looking forward to the better replacement.

On September 13, Sattar resigned from the party’s Rabita Committee, the top decision-making forum of the party over ‘personal reasons’, and submitted his resignation to the party.
