Billboard: Ariana Grande Woman of the Year 2018

NEW YORK  — Billboard has just honored Ariana Grande with Woman of the Year 2018 on Tuesday.

The music industry will honor the 25-year-old award-winning singer on December 6, 2018. The award will be given to Ariana Grande at Billboard’s 13th annual Women in Music dinner and gala event in New York City.

Previous recipients of the award were Madonna, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga.

Billboard’s vice president of content Ross Scarano says Grande in a statement said:


“Certain in her convictions,
 consistently stands up for herself and her decisions in a world that often isn’t hospitable to that sort of strength in young women.”

He also said she definitely deserves “Women of the Year”. She has got guts and is making best music of her career.

She had Top 40 hits in the past year including “No Tears Left To Cry,” ″Breathin’” and “God Is A Woman.”

Last year she also helped organize the One Love Manchester concert and raised more than USD23 million for victims of the Manchester bombing.

In 2014 she also received Billboard’s Rising Star award following the release of her second album: My Everything.

In August, her fourth studio album, Sweetener, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with her hit singles “Breathin,” “God Is a Woman” and “No Tears Left to Cry.”

Her fifth album is expected to release by the end of 2018, months before she gets on a tour.

Billboard’s Women in Music event and red carpet pre-show will stream live Dec. 6 on Twitter, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET.

Grande is set to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday.
