After Empress Market next is Univerity Road: Mayor Karachi

KARACHI: The Anti Encroachment drive is in full swing in Sadar area of Karachi, as KMC clears off encroachers from Empress Market and surroundings. 

Mayor Karachi, Wasim Akhtar hints that next phase we’ll be coming after University Road, Gulshan-e-Iqbal to clear the enchorchment from there. 

MQM-Pakistan led local government in Karachi showing its performance in the final phase of its tenure to impress the voters.

According to Mayor Karachi, Bahria Town (Private company) has been helping us by providing, machinery to clear off the debris.

Encroachers are all the districts of Karachi, The Historic landmarks and markets like Lee-Market is which falls under liyari district is one of the iconic market like Empress Market, Sadar.  

KMC needs to clear it off since, KMC itself leased these areas to encroachers some 3 to 4 decades back. 

Mayor Karachi said all the footpaths will be revamped in Sadar and Parks will be build in surrounding of Historic Empress Market in Sadar. 

Approx 26 main roads comes under KMC and Mayor Karachi shows determination to follow Supreme Courts order to clear off all the areas with the help of Karachi Police, Rangers and Private companies like Bahria Town Karachi. 

The restoration and beautification of Karachi was discussed as PTI MNA’s from Karachi visited Bani Gala and met Prime Minister Imran Khan and expressed their views on how to restore Karachi to the city of lights.

Meanwhile, Greenline Metro Bus project is expected to start by next August 2019. In the current phase construction of the road at M.A Jinnah road and later it will be completed till The Iconic Tower.

Greenline Metro Bus Project will facilitate commuters from Surjani town to Tower following from North nazimabad and M.A Jinnah road.
