Khadim Rizvi TLP Leader Charged With Treason and Terrorism

Lahore: The Government has reached a decision tocharge Khadim Hussain Rizvi TLP Leader under Treason and Terrorism Charges.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry while addressing a press conference on Saturday informed the Government will take legal action against the TLP Leader under treason and terrorism law at the Civil Lines Police Station in Lahore.

Other Top Leaders Charged with Similar Charges Include:

• Pir Afzal Qadri – charged with treason and terrorism in Gujrat,
• Inayatul Haq Shah – charged under treason and anti-terrorism laws in Rawalpindi
• Hafiz Farooqul Hassan –  charged under similar laws

Fawad Chaudhry also informed about the people taken into custody

• 2,899 from across Punjab
• 139 from Sindh
• 126 from Islamabad

Khadim Hussain Rizvi TLP Leader was arrested on 23 November from Lahore prior their announced rally to be held on 25 November. Thecrackdown came two days ahead of their plan.

Information Minister also stated that the Government will only allow protest that protect the rights of people. The state will however, not allow any protest that violet the rights of people and disrupt the system.

Following his arrest Khadim Hussain Rizvi had instructed his followers to spur up the strike and block the entire country.
