SC orders to remove Wedding Halls from Military owned land

KARACHI: The Supreme court has ordered to remove wedding halls from Military owned land in Karachi. 

Justice Gulzar Ahmed chaired a meeting at Supreme Court Karachi Registry on Tuesday. 

Supreme Court ordered the removal of wedding halls from military land in Karachi.

“Business activities on the land acquired for defense purpose were unlawful. Wedding halls were constructed on land sanctioned for hospitals – Judge remarked.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed is monitoring anti-encroachment drive in Karachi. 

For the first time, Supreme Court ordered to remove wedding halls from military owned land in various areas including Defence Housing Authority (DHA). 

“No one is above the law” and even the Military cannot illegally permit its land for such illegal activities.

Before Military Wedding Halls, Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Babar Ghauri owned wedding halls in Karachi in North Nazimabad. 

Supreme Court is ensuring nobody can misuse land encroach or rent out without legitimate permission. 

Anti-Encroachment drive is in full swing in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Lahore these days.
