CDA Anti Encroachment Operation E-12 Halted

ISLAMABAD: The anti-encroachment operation of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad District Administration regarding retrieval of the CDA land of the sector E-12 halted as about 2000 villagers gathered at the site and started gathering rowdy for their additional benefits.

Officers and staff of Enforcement Directorate, CDA along with officers of District Administration and heavy contingent of police were present on the occasion among heavy machinery. A large number of affectees of sector E-12 started agitation for their additional demands / grievances in return of the possession of acquired land.

On this occasion, Member Estate, CDA addressed with approximately 2000 villagers gathered at the site and told them anti encroachment operation would be continued without any discrimination.

He further engaged a group of elders in order to subdue the rowdy crowd and said that if Affectees of sector E-12 are facing any problems can approach CDA administration for their grievances so that operation could be completed smoothly. Thereafter, a delegation of Affectees of sector E-12 visited the CDA Headquarters at 11:00 A.M today and met with Member Estate, CDA for putting up formal request about the outstanding benefits.

During these above circumstances, anti encroachment operation temporarily stopped and teams of Enforcement, police and Magistrate were called back.
