Apple designer Jony Ive removed from Apple’s leadership page

The chief design officer at Apple, Jony Ive, who is responsible for the designs for the iPhones and iMac that we see today announced a while back that he will be leaving Apple and now very recently, he has been removed from Apple’s leadership page including his biography and photo.

Jony Ive decided to start his own design firm called LoveFrom and said that Apple will now be his top client. Ive had been working for Apple for almost 30 years. That is a long time.

Tim Cook spoke about him saying:

Ive is a singular figure in the design world and his role in Apple’s revival cannot be overstated, from 1998’s groundbreaking iMac to the iPhone and the unprecedented ambition of Apple Park, where recently he has been putting so much of his energy and care,

Jony Ive was very close to the Steve Jobs who refered to him as his spiritual partner. Ive has been behind the design of the original iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and even the new Spaceship Campus by Apple.

Jony Ive was born in London and studied design at the University of Northumbria, New Castle. He was hired by Apple in September of 1992 while he was working for a Industrial Design Group Tangerine. He said that ne was hesitant about taking the position at Apple because of the Move to California at first but changed his mind.

Although Ive did go through a lot of set backs after a new design failures in his early days at Apple and even thought about quitting.

Steve Jobs who was fired from Apple by executives at the time, worked closely with Ive upon returning back at Apple and together they saved Apple from a tight spot.
