LAHORE: As the coronavirus cases in Punjab is rising rapidly, the Government of Punjab has issued a notification stating that the Punjab lockdown has been extended till 14 April 2020.
The partial lockdown was announced by the Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar on 23 March 2020 to try and curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The government spokesperson took to Twitter to announce the decision and also shared the notification issued by the Punjab Home Department.
Musarrat Cheema in his tweet said:
Punjab Govt has decided to extend all the existing restrictions till 14th April 2020. Public is requested to follow the guidelines issued by Govt and ensure that they don’t leave home unless necessary.
This decision comes a day after Chinese doctors who are in Pakistan advised the CM Usman Buzdar to extend the lockdown for at least 28 days to get a control on the situation.
The Chinese experts said that social distancing was the key to stopping the spread of the COVID-19 virus and authorities should ensure a 28 days lockdown.
Punjab currently has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country with over 1500 people infected and the number is rising rapidly. So far 15 fatalities have been reported from Punjab due to coronavirus.
