Now President Trump wants China to pay for damages as he is unhappy with how they dealt with the situation believing that they would have stopped it. He said during a White House Briefing:

We are not happy with that whole situation because we believe it could have been stopped at the source.

Trump further referred to the recent new editorial where Germany asked for China to pay $165 billion in damages for the coronavirus. President Trump said that the US and Germany were both looking into things and “We haven’t determined the final amount yet”.

This statement by Trump angered Chinese officials and Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang in Beijing accused the United States of “telling barefaced lies” instead of focusing at their own problems and dealing with the virus.

United States is by far the worst affected country due to the COVID-19 outbreak with over a million cases and 57,000 fatalities with huge numbers being reported every single day.
