KARACHI: The Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah says that lockdown measures may be tightened if businesses, traders and public does not follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Murad Ali Shah said that traders need to strictly follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) agreed upon otherwise there will be no option left but impose further restrictions and to withdraw any flexibility granted to businesses to resume day to day operations.

The Chief Minister in a video message said:
I have received reports that nobody, including traders and the public, is observing the government’s SOPs.
He said that people are failing to understand the severity of the situation we are facing as the country’s health system cannot bear the pressure of increased coronavirus cases thus the SOPs issues have to be strictly followed otherwise Sindh lockdown will be tightened once again.
Murad Ali Shah said that traders and the public did not live up to the expectations as they are not following any precautionary measures and the resolution to the coronavirus crisis is in our own hands and that’s to follow these SOPs and act responsibly.
In related news, the Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho expressed her concern for the healthcare workers dealing with the coronaviru pandemic. In a video conference with other ministers including the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza, she expressed that the decision to ease lockdown would eventually increase the pressure on doctors and healthcare workers.
