20th NCOC Meeting Held in Islamabad during Ramazan

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Center – NCOC meeting held in Islamabad today is the 20th consecutive meeting during Ramazan to discuss the on-going coronavirus situation in Pakistan.

NCOC meeting took an in-depth review of existing beds, ventilators & other medical facilities in hospitals, keeping in view the projections of possible spread of COVID-19 & present data. The purpose of thorough examination of existing facilities was to gauge the capacity of hospitals.

The meeting also reviewed the latest situation of COVID-19, progress on implementation of SOPs and guidelines at the provincial level.

Chairing the meeting FM for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Asad Umar said that provinces & hospital management had responsibility to ensure availability of verified data of coronavirus affected patients, & to take effective measures for mitigating risk of outbreak While lauding the role of the provinces and health administration Asad Umar said that the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the non-spread of coronavirus during the past day at the provincial and district level was encouraging.

He said that the implementation of SOPs and guidelines for containing the risk of COVID-19 could only ensure public health and safety.

Federal Minister for Interior Brig (r) Ijaz Ahmad Shah apprised the forum that clear instructions to implement the SOPs and guidelines for religious congregations, mosques and markets had been issued a day earlier.
