Islamabad bans use of motorcycles without silencers on Eid Ul Fitr

ISLAMABAD: The Office of District Magistrate of Islamabad has issued a notification stating that there will be a ban of use of motorcycles without silencers on the occasion of Eid Ul Fitr.

The decision has been taken to avoid public nuisance created by some youth at Chand Raat and to protect the public and property

The notification states that there will be a ban in Islamabad on the use of motorcycles without silencers for four days from 23 May 2020 to 26 May 2020 and action will be taken against violators.

Eid Ul Fitr in Pakistan – Shawwal Moon Sighting

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet today for the Shawwal moon sighting and the Zonal/District Committees will meet in their respective headquarters.

Although Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that Eid-ul-Fitr is to be celebrated in Pakistan tomorrow as the Shawwal moon will be visible today.

However, there seems to be dispute between Fawad Chaudhry and Ulema as Noorul Haq Qadri says that the decision on when Eid will be celebrated lies with the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and also said that Fawad Chaudhry was interfering needlessly in the matter.
