PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan has finally inaugurated the Rapid Bus Transit or better known as the Peshawar BRT Project which is the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s flagship project.
The premier was accompanied by Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak and other officials at the inauguration ceremony of the Peshawar BRT Project.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed about the functioning of the Rs. 66.43 billion project that will help 340,000 people with their commutes in a safe, comfortable and affordable manner every day.
The Peshawar BRT consists of a 27.5 kilometre long main track with 62 kilometre of feeder routes. There are a total of 31 stations and 146 stops. The project connects seven different areas of the city to make commute easy and convenient for residents.
The Peshawar BRT (Rapid Bus Transit) was launched in 2017 under Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at the time and had a six months deadline for the completion at a cost of Rs. 49 billion.
However, there were several delays that occurred to due frequent deisgn changes and other issues that even raised the cost of the project to Rs. 66.43.
Peshawar BRT Project Fares
The Rapid Bus Transit (BRT) Project fares have also been announced and the minimum fare will be Rs. 15 while the maximum fare will be Rs. 50 according to the provincial government.
