WEATHER UPDATE: Heavy rain and thunderstorms expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and other parts of Punjab from 19th August till 21st August according to a notification by the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
According to the notification, widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and Upper Punjab which includes Gujranwala, Lahore, Sarghoda, Mianwali, Faisalabad and Sahiwal.

Furthermore, scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected in Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.
The heavy rain may generate flash flooding in Local nullah / streams of Punjab and urban flooding on Thursday / Friday and appropriate authorities have been instructed to take precautionary measures to avoid loss of life and damage to property.
