PEMRA bans drama serials ‘Ishqiya’ & ‘Pyar Ke Sadqay’

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned drama serials ‘Ishqiya‘ and ‘Pyar Ke Sadqay‘ for content against social and religious values.

The two drama serials ‘Ishqiya‘ and ‘Pyar Ke Sadqay‘ have already aired their last episodes last months and remain available on YouTube.

However according to PEMRA, a repeat telecast of the two drama serials on their respective channels of ARY Digital and HUM TV will not be allowed.

The decision was taken by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) after receiving several complaints regarding the content of the drama serials.

The complaints received through Pakistan Citizen Portal and social media accounts regarding drama serials ‘Ishqiya‘ and ‘Pyar Ke Sadqay‘ stated that the content goes against social and religious values of Pakistan.

Furthermore, PEMRA has directed all TV channels, media houses and production houses to review the content of drama before they are aired on television.
