As the automotive industry goes through one of the worst crisis, General Tyre and Rubber (GTR) Company Limited has also announced a production shutdown for one week due to shortage of materials caused by restrictions on imports.
In a circular issued by General Tyre and Rubber (GTR) Company Limited, the company said that it was facing continued hurdles towards importing its raw materials and obtaining clearance of consignments from commercial banks.
“Therefore, the Company has decided to temporarily shutdown / close its production activities on the account of NPDs, for a period of one week i.e. from 13 February 2023 to 17 February 2023.” the company said.
It added that normal production will resume from 20 February 2023.
However, GTR stated that it would continue to monitor the situation for future course of action depending on the stabilization of the aforesaid factors.
