MG Pakistan has announced a major upgrade to its popular plug-in hybrid SUV, the MG HS PHEV, by introducing a 7KW fast charger as a standard replacement for the existing portable charger. The move reflects the brand’s commitment to delivering smarter, more efficient urban mobility.
Since its launch in October 2024 and the start of local production in January 2025, the MG HS PHEV – True Hybrid Electric has seen strong demand. Over 500 units have already been delivered. Customers have appreciated its design, performance, and eco-friendly drive, although some raised concerns about the 8.5-hour charging time with the previous charger.
In response, MG has introduced the 7KW fast charger, which nearly halves the charging time and makes daily use more convenient.

“We are transforming Pakistan’s automotive industry with advanced technology,” said Syed Asif Ahmed, General Manager of Marketing. “This upgrade directly addresses customer needs while enhancing the ownership experience and strengthening our leadership in new energy vehicles.”
The 7KW fast charger, valued at PKR 235,000, now comes standard with the HS PHEV at no extra cost. The portable charger, previously included, will now be offered separately as an accessory.
The MG HS PHEV remains a strong choice for city drivers, offering over 50 km of pure electric range, modern safety and tech features, and lower running costs.
MG Pakistan continues to lead in electric and hybrid mobility by providing innovative and sustainable transport solutions.
