Suzuki Swift Competitor MG 3 Launching in Pakistan

Peshawar Zalmi owner and the the key stakeholder of MG Motors in Pakistan, Javed Afridi, has once again teased the launch of the MG 3 hatchback in Pakistan and the vehicle is expected to be a direct competitor of the highly popular Suzuki Swift, which dominates the local market when it comes hatchback vehicles consisting of 1300cc or higher engine capacity.

“NEED MORE ZALMI COLOURS IN LIFE” tweeted the Peshawar Zalmi owner with a sticker that reads “soon” at the end of the post and hints that the MG 3 might be launching soon in Pakistan and offering another reliable option in the hatchback segment.

Previously, Javed Afridi hinted that MG 3 Price in Pakistan would likely be less than Rs. 2 million, which means great competition Suzuki Swift which is priced higher than the upcoming new entrant in the hatchback segment. However, the lower price tag also means competition for the 1000cc hatchback vehicles in the market, namely the Suzuki Cultus and the somewhat new entry Kia Picanto.

The Pakistani entrepreneur also shared a specification sheet for the MG 3 hatchback. which comes in two engine variants including a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 105 hp and 137 Nm of torque while another variant which is also a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine but it makes 109 hp and 150 Nm of torque.

One of the MG 3 variants comes with a 5-speed manual transmission while the other one is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Take a look at the specification sheet provided by Javed Afridi in one of his tweets.

However, it bears mentioning that the launch of the vehicle is not confirmed by the company yet. Javed Afridi has shared a bunch of social media posts regarding other MG vehicles in the past but all of them are yet to be announced officially by the automaker.
