SBP Announces Bank Holiday on April 4 For Zakat Deduction

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced a Bank Holiday on 4 April 2022 (Monday) for the purpose of Zakat Deduction.

According to a notification, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed for public dealing on 4 April 2022, “which shall be observed as Bank Holiday for the purpose of deduction of Zakat.”

The statement added that all banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will remain closed as well on the Bank Holiday being observed on 4 April 2022.

“However, all employees of the banks, DFIs, MFBs will attend the office on Bank Holiday treating it as a normal working day (except for public dealing),” said the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has authorized the field offices of SBP BSC and branches of National Bank of Pakistan to observe extended banking hours till 8pm and 10pm for the collection of Government Receipts / Duties / Taxes.
