We have been hearing rumors for some time now that Indus Motor Company (IMC) plans on replacing the Toyota Corolla in Pakistan with Toyota Vios or Toyota Yaris.
These rumors first surfaced back in 2018 and different sources claimed that the company plans on replacing the Toyota Corolla with Vios but that never came to fruition.

Although for a few months now we have been hearing about the Indus Motor Company (IMC) planning on introducing the Toyota Yaris Sedan to replace the 1.3L models of the Toyota Corolla (both XLi and GLi).
The Yaris was first introduced in Thailand with the name Yaris Ativ and is very popular is many markets around the world.

The Yaris in most markets is powered by a 1.5 litre VVT-i 4 cylinder engine with both options for a manual as well as automatic transmission.
Although in Pakistan it is expected that the car will come with a 1.2 litre or 1.3 litre engine like currently in the Toyota Corolla that might be replaced.

It should be mentioned here that according to the rumors, Indus Motor Company (IMC) only plans on replacing the 1.3 litre variants of corolla and the 1.6 litre and 1.8 litre (GLi and Altis) variants of the car will remain unaffected.
Most of you are already familiar with the Toyota Yaris hatchback as Vitz in the Pakistani Market but this time around to replace the Corolla, the company plans on introducing the sedan variant of Yaris.
Although these are all rumors at this point and the company itself has no official news in this regard especially currently when the auto sector in Pakistan is going through a very bad crisis with reduced sales where company’s have stock piles of cars but not enough customers buying them.

Yaris Sedans are belower level to Corolla as Corolla is mid-segment to camry and vios sedans, only toyota replaces 1.3 engine variants to gove competition to honda city not removing corolla name from pakistan. Corolla will have 12th generation in Pakistan as VIetnam and India being among remaining countries to introduce 12th generation Corolla.
City 2020 got update for India after Launching in Thailand. it’s still unsure if Honda launches City.
