The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared a public holiday on the day of the general elections, which are scheduled to take place on February 8, 2024.
“The Election Commission of Pakistan is pleased to declare public holiday on 08 February, 2024 in the country in order to enable the voters to exercise their right of franchise freely and conveniently.” said the notification. The copy of the notification is attached below:
It is pertinent to mention that Punjab’s provincial cabinet has already announced holidays for educational institutions across the province due to the general elections. According to the details, all public and private schools, colleges, and universities across the province will remain closed from February 6 to 9, 2024.
