Aima Baig Faces Backlash After Performance in Jeddah after Umrah

The event, part of the Jeddah Season, saw a vibrant mix of artists, including Bilal Saeed, TikTok star Rabeeca Khan, actor Kashif Khan, Indonesian singer Lady Rara, and the Sonu Dance Group. Thousands attended to celebrate the rich musical heritage of Pakistan and Indonesia.

Baig had earlier shared pictures of her Umrah pilgrimage on Instagram, a religious journey that holds significant importance in Islam. Soon after, she announced her trip abroad for work, which sparked rumors about her possibly quitting the music industry. She clarified, however, that her trip was strictly for professional reasons.

During her performance in Jeddah, Baig captivated the audience with her renditions of popular songs like “Kaif-o-Suroor” and “Mast Malang.” Videos of her energetic and engaging performance quickly made rounds on social media, showcasing her strong stage presence and vocal talent.

Despite the positive response from the event attendees, Baig’s decision to perform soon after her Umrah pilgrimage did not sit well with some social media users. They criticized her for participating in a music event shortly after engaging in a religious activity, reflecting a clash between cultural expectations and personal choices.

Aima Baig’s journey to Saudi Arabia included both her religious pilgrimage and professional commitments. Her decision to balance these aspects of her life has sparked a debate among her followers and the wider public, highlighting the complexities faced by public figures in managing their personal and professional lives.

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
