Star Shah is a newcomer to Coke Studio Season 15. Hailing from Okara, Punjab, he puts out heartfelt music reflecting life’s struggles.
Coke Studio Season 15’s “2AM” captures Star Shah’s essence, with his lyrics echoing through late-night streets like a wanderer in the rain. The music, produced by Aksel Carlson, Thomas, and Xulfi, creates a vulnerable atmosphere, complemented by Star’s rap in Punjabi and English.
Director Awais Gohar’s storytelling, alongside Art Director Hashim Ali, adds cultural moments of warmth, like a husband braiding his wife’s hair.
Furthermore, Zeeshan Ali, another newcomer to Coke Studio 15, lends his vocals to “2AM”. Ali is a classical music enthusiast from Punjab. His response to Star’s lament reflects his understanding of love and hope, rooted in his spiritual upbringing. Zeeshan’s passion for music, influenced by his childhood verses, led him to explore ragas and languages like Farsi and Sindhi.
Producer Xulfi brought Star’s lyrics to Zeeshan, resulting in a profound connection between the two artists, resonating most deeply at 2AM, a time of raw emotions.
