Janaan (meaning beloved) is a 2016 Pakistani romantic comedy film directed by Azfar Jafri, written by Osman Khalid Butt, and co-produced by Hareem Farooq, Reham Khan, Munir Hussain and Imran Raza Kazmi under production banners of IRK Films andMunir Hussain Films – UK. The film stars Armeena Khan, Bilal Ashraf, and Ali Rehman Khan in lead roles.

Setting a new precedent for Pakistani cinema in the UK and overseas and setting a new record as the first Pakistani film to gross one-day collections of over £56,000 (the highest single day collections recorded for a Pakistani film ever in the UK), romantic comedy, ‘Janaan’, has broken previous Box Office records in the UK. The film reached number 8 in the UK Box Office Top 10 after its opening weekend – the first time ever that a Pakistani film has reached the UK Box Office Top 10. Released on 9th September, ‘Janaan’ took £56,605 on Monday 12th September – the festive day of Eid ul Adha – alone.
