The United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres thanked Mahira Khan, who is also the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador, for her support.
UN Secretary General Guterres is on a four day visit to Pakistan marking the 40 years of Afghan Refugees in the country and held meetings with Mahira and UN Refugee Agency officials on Monday.
Guterres tweeted about meeting Mahira and thanked her for the support.

The UN Secretary General wrote in his tweet:
As we mark 40 years of Pakistan’s solidarity with Afghan refugees, it was a pleasure to meet @Refugees Goodwill Ambassador @TheMahiraKhan
further adding:
I thank her and all Pakistanis for their extraordinary support.
Mahira Khan was the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador in may last year.
