In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), BISP stated, “The Benazir Income Support Program is a government organization that works all the time to help deserving and poor people without discrimination.”

It added, “Some vested interests are constantly trying to swindle money from deserving and poor people by using the name of the Benazir Income Support Program for the purpose of forgery, dishonesty and fraud.”

Furthermore, it said that in order to achieve their nefarious goals, these fraudsters use fake social media accounts, WhatsApp groups and websites, including other means of communication.

It bears noting that Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) only sends messages to deserving women from 8171. “If you are contacted from any other number other than 8171, then that message or call will definitely be fake.” BISP added.
