A blast was reported outside of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office in Karachi on Friday.

However, no casualties have been reported so far, as per Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Sajid Saduzai.

The bomb disposal squad arrived at the seen soon after the incident and cordoned off the area to determine the gravity of the situation.

According to SSP Saduzai, the blast may be part of a wider conspiracy to still fear and chaos.

It is pertinent to mention that the explosion has occurred just a few days a head of Pakistan’s General Elections, which are scheduled to be held on February 8, 2024.
