Coronavirus cases in Pakistan surge to 32044, death toll reaches 705

The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan surge to 32,044 after more than 1,100 cases were reported on Monday along with 39 more fatalities bringing the country’s death toll to 705.

The Health and Population Welfare Department reported 11 more fatalities bringing the provincial deaht toll to 200 in their daily coronavirus update.

The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 12 more fatalities and the provincial death toll now stands at 257 which is the highest reported in Pakistan.

Punjab reported 14 more fatalities according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) bringing the total number of deaths to 211 in their daily coronavirus report.

However, we should mention here that the Health Department of Punjab reported 197 total fatalities in their report published just minutes apart from the PDMA report. Like always, the number reported by the Health Department remains low. We are taking the higher total in our report.

Balochistan reported one more fatality according to the Daily Situation Report issued by the Provincial Health Department. This brings the total provincial death toll to 27.

The same report was also issued by the Balochistan Comand and Operation Center (BCOC).

One fatality was also reported in Islamabad according to the Official Coronavirus Dashboard of the Government of Pakistan on covid.gov.pk/stats/pakistan.

There were no fatalities reported out of Gilgit Baltistan although, the Health Department did register new coronavirus cases.

The total number of coronavirus cases globally have surged past 4.2 million along with a death toll of over 286,000. Here are the top 10 most affected countries with a their coronavirus figures:

United States continues to report high cases and deaths. Russia has surged past Italy as number of cases are rising in the country. Most European countries including Italy, Spain and France now have a really improved situation and the number of new cases and deaths in gradually declining.
