5.7 Magnitude Earthquake in Islamabad, KP & other areas

An Earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was felt in Islamabad and parts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa according to reports.

According to the Met Office, the depth of the earthquake that was felt in Islamabad and KP was 112 kilometers and the epicenter was in Tajikistan close to the Afghanistan – Tajikistan border and the the earthquake was recorded at a 5.1 magnitude according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre.

Some of the areas that felt the tremors included Swat, Bannu, Charsadda, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Nowshera and Swabi. Tremors were also felt in Rawalpindi.

There has been no reported loss of life.
