Earthquake jolts Islamabad and several other cities

An Earthquake of 5.9 magnitude jolts the twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi and tremors were felt in several other cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab province at around 9:16 am (PST) on Saturday.

The epic center of the quake was in Hindukush Region, Afghanistan near Tajikistan border and the depth was 210 km, according to the Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad.

Tremors were felt in Malakand, Nowshera, North Waziristan, Swat, Peshawar, Mansehra, Sargodha, Mianwali, Swabi, while Muzaffarabad and Multan were also affected.

However, no casualties or damage has been reported.
