Expansion of Islamabad’s Red Zone Made Permanent

The Federal Government has announced that expansion of the Islamabad’s Red Zone has been made permanent due to security concerns, reported ARY News.

Source of the media outlet within Islamabad Police said that the Federal Government decided to expand the restricted zone permanently by three-kilometer radius over security concerns and possible political unrest.

“The authorities added Zero Point, Third Avenue, Parade Ground, Club Road, Diplomats Residences and Pakistan Institute Of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital,” the source told media the media outlet.

It is pertinent to mention that the Federal Government had temporarily extended the Islamabad Red Zone to Zero Point over security concerns during Imran Khan’s protest and long march.

The Federal Authority had declared Faisal Avenue, Margalla Road Bari Imam, and Fifth Avenue as part of the Islamabad’s Red Zone and imposed Section 144 within the capital’s jurisdiction.
