Face masks made mandatory in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The ICT Administration has made use of face masks mandatory in Islamabad while visiting public places due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in the city.

According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner, the order will come into effect immediately for a period of two months during which face masks will be mandatory for Islamabad residents.

Furthermore, strict action will be taken against violators and anyone found not wearing a face mask can be arrested by police according to the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad.

The number of coronavirus cases has been rising across the country with over 700 cases being reported everyday as the second wave sweeps across the country.

Islamabad reported 119 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours with the city’s tally to 19,300 along with 214 deaths according to the District Health Office TTQ Surveillance Cell.
