Fact Check: Sindh Has Not Extended Winter Vacations

The Government of Sindh has clarified that it has not extended winter vacations in the province in response to a fake notification circulating on social media. The fake notification has created confusion amongst parents regarding the reopening of schools.

Secretary School Education Sindh, Dr. Shireen Mustafa, has stated that the notification issued regarding winter holidays extension is fake. According to the decision of the Steering Committee in Sindh, the schools will reopen on January 1, 2024, as previously scheduled.

It is pertinent to mention that Sindh had announced winter vacations across the province from December 22 to December 31, 2023. Therefore, parents and students are urged to ignore the fake notification regarding the extension in the winter break.
